On October 3d, a press briefing on the threshold of the IV International Motivational Film and Sport Festival BRIDGE of ARTS was held in the “Don Media” press-center. Management of the Rostov film festival told about what awaits Rostov citizens and guests of the city on the festival days and answered journalists’ questions.
This year the management of the International Motivational Film and Sport Festival BRIDGE of ARTS decided to shift the dates of BRIDGE of ARTS 2018 to October 10-14. “It will allow Rostov schoolchildren and students having their holidays in summer to attend the festival events,” explained Anna Dmitrova, Deputy Minister for Culture of the Rostov Region. “The festival conduction during the course of the academic year will engage much more young viewers into such a large-scale event. From six to ten thousand schoolchildren are expected to attend it.”
The organizers of BRIDGE of ARTS prepared for young viewers a special screening program including sports-themed children films from different countries of the world, such as Spain, Germany, Belgium, Columbia, Brazil and others.
“The year 2018 in Rostov Region has been declared the Year of Children’s Sport. For this reason, considerable attention at the festival will be given to motivating the younger generation to develop, adopt healthy lifestyles and do sports. I note, in particular, that screenings of special sports section are open to schoolchildren for free,” added Alexander Domanov, the Head of the Office of Cultural Affairs of Rostov-on-Don.
In the framework of BRIDGE of ARTS main competition program, viewers will be presented ten bright films, lately released in Russia and all over the world. Most of them will be showed in Russia for the first time. The screening program also includes non-competition full-length works, event-films and short film nights. Overall 80 films from 30 countries, including special screenings of Indian, Italian and Russian films, will be shown in Multiplex Gorizont CINEMA&EMOTION. The same venue will host opening and closing ceremonies, photo and autograph sessions with celebrities, film presentations and many other activities.
“It is one of the best cinemas in Europe and our great fortune to have our festival held exactly at this venue,” - said Fyodor Krat, director and general producer of BRIDGE of ARTS. “Traditionally BRIDGE of ARTS will become an outstanding, eventful film and sports festival, which will give Rostov citizens and guests a great opportunity to immerse themselves in a fascinating atmosphere of cinematograph, meet famous actors, directors and sportsmen, take part in our business forum and workshops.”
The opening ceremony hosted by the Russian actor Dmitry Kharatyan will take place on October, 10 at 7 pm. Fyodor Krat also announced the list of other guest stars who will walk the red carpet of the IV Inernational Motivational Film and Sport Festival. Among them are Eric Roberts, Holywood star, Don Wilson, American actor and sportsman, Louis Mandylor, Australian actor, as well as Russian actors Anatoliy Belyy, Alyona Babenko, Alexander Nosik, Vlad Vetrov, Anatoliy Kotenyov, Maxim Konovalov, Lesya Sudzilovskaya, Elena Zakharova and others. The closing ceremony will be hosted by the actor Marat Basharov.
“The films, which are to be shown at the festival, are non-trivial, very deep and interesting. I am sure the viewers will enjoy them. The full schedule can be found on our official website. The ticket prices are quite affordable, from 150 to 350 rubbles on average, except for special screenings, opening and closing films. The prices for these shows are traditionally higher,” commented Dan Polonskiy, general director of the shopping and entertaining complex “Gorizont”.
In addition to the new motivational films from all over the world, citizens and festival participants will enjoy a rich educational, business and cultural program. The organizers traditionally put considerable emphasis on the social mission. This year within the framework of the festival there will be held a fundraising film marathon in aid of the fund “Podari Zhizn” (“Give life” in Russian) founded by Chulpan Khamatova and Dina Korzun. Apart from the special program of films made by Russian directors, a charitable event “Film stars are reading Chekhov” will be organized in the Chekhov theatre, Taganrog.
