Leading tourism experts of Russia and the South region discussed topical issues of development of internal and entrance tourism in the Rostov region. Hot discussions and debates erupted within the I Interregional tourist congress "Russia inspires" on March 31 and on April 1, 2017.
"Gastronomic tourism", "trailering", "business tourism" and "cinema tourism" issues were discussed during two days at all discussion platforms of the congress. It was stressed that cossacks traditions, original southern culture and numerous museum complexes make the region very attractive.
Event tourism expansion in Russia and the Rostov region as area development tool became the main subject of the congress. Experts noted that in many regions of Russia events triggering tourist infrastructure development were held. Such events incorporate the work of tour operators working out excursion programs, hotels making special offers, translators, transport companies and other players of branch.
The initiative of creating a unified event calendar of the South of Russia became another point of discussion at the Interregional tourist congress "Russia inspires". The unified tourist calendar of the South can become an interregional tourist flow control tool and unite all attractive events of the Southern Federal District. "Residents of Rostov need to take the initiative and to unite all tourists of South of Russia. The calendar has to contain bright and essential events that will be interseting for both Russian and international visitors. We have to inform the global community that it is time to travel around Russia because Russia inspires", - declared the head of "Region PR", National award winner in the field of public relations development "Silver Archer" and the National award "Media Manager of Russia" recepient Gennady Shatalov.
"Rostov-on-Don is favourable for business tourism developmen. The beneficial factors include reasonable prices, diverse accomodation facilities and recreational options. It is necessary to finish a product and to begin continuous work with MICE operators – surely when the new airport will begin its work", – Natalia Belyakova, the marketing director of "Domina Russia", the host of "Grand tour" TV-program, the associate professor of Higher School of Economics National Research University, the member of Guild of marketing specialists of Russian Federation noted.
Leading experts in the field of tourism from Moscow, St. Petersburg, Voronezh, Khanty-Mansiysk, Kazan and other cities of Russia, and also Spanish delegation took part in dialogue with colleagues from the Rostov region. Discussion of trends and products became distinctive feature of the congress.
At a practical seminar on "Public-private partnership – the driver of tourism development in regions" prospects of interaction between business and government aimed at infrastructure projects implementation were discussed. Construction and reconstruction of embankments in Rostov-on-Don and Romanovskaya village, construction of the Platov Airport, Russia's and regions's achievements in international exhibition venues were listed as successful projects. Experts noted that the public-private partnership does not not always pressupose expensive projects. Small business intitiatives can become promising.
For the first time federal and regional experts discussed trends and tourism development issues in a fast foresight technique developed by the Agency of Strategic initiatives. Analytical processing results will be transferred to be Ministry of Economic Development of Rostov region and will serve as further industry's development base.
"The objective of such kind of effective events is not only solutions plan but also building of an expert team of adherents, capable of making drastic changes and pursuing the area's development policy", - the moderator of a session, member of Сouncil on information security and informatization at the Plenipotentiary of the President of the Russian Federation Roman Hadi noted .
Congress work was enriched by Russian national tourism and travel film competition "Russia Inspires!". Experts emphasized an important role of cinema and video advertizing in creating touristically attractive image of Russia and regions.
"Many foreigners don't know what Russia is, its image is hidden behind a set of stereotypes. Travelling is associated with dreams and emotions, and we have to spread these positive vibes to attract tourists.It is necessary to create an image of Russia, Rostov which would awaken certain emotions and associations", - the guest of the congress, the chairman of the commission on cinema of the Kingdom of Spain, the co-chairman of the European commission on cinema Elza Martinez told.
Experts agreed on the necessity of interregional platforms creation, where video content technologies will be implemented, training seminars on tourist's product brand promotion conducted and communication projects initiated. Rostov-on-Don has to become one of such platforms, experts noted.
"Thanks to organizers, two days of work of the congress were very fruitful. And it is great that all this time representatives of the regional government, all tourist community were with us. It is very important for sharing experience and maitaining communication process. See you next year", - the expert of the congress, the president of National Association of experts of event tourism, the editor-in-chief of the Internet media on tourism, rest and travel "The live Russia map" Oleg Alekseev shared impressions.
