II International Motivational Film Festival BRIDGE of ARTS has completed a selection of films about the Rostov region for a special program of screening “Rostov inspires!”. The program includes 18 films shot in the Rostov region in recent years. For the most of them BRIDGE of ARTS will be a premiere set, but some films have already obtained the awards of various festivals.

“Rostov inspires!” starts on the evening of August 26 with a premiere of the film Frantsuzskaya kulinaria that is presented by its crew. It is a love story that brings a young Parisian woman to remote Russian city Taganrog. This mini-series was shot by Sergey Sentsov, director of TV series Fizruk. The leading roles were played by Secile Plage, Aleksey Demidov, Evelina Bledans, Olga Volkova and others. The screening will take place on the summer stage of the October Revolution Park, everyone is welcomed.

The main program will be held on August 27. Out of more than 30 applications the festival organizers have selected the films shot in different genres, sometimes with opposite authors approaches. The audience will watch both documentaries and feature films: dramas, comedies, historical war films, chick-flicks, thrillers. But every film will somehow present Rostov-on-Don or the Don region. “The Rostov citizens treat their city with great affection, and they have particular feelings watching it on screen. We haven't been concerned about the film genre, the main thing was to demonstrate how cinematographic our region is. We're talking about the locations, local talented directors, actors, cameramen”, explained Galina Koren, screening committee coordinator of “Rostov inspires!”

The screening day will end with another premiere - Across the Don, shot by the participants of City Code Cinema Lab. This film is all about Rostov-on-Don and has already won the grand prix at the documentary competition Golden Apricot in Erevan. The film covers a story of jazz trombone player from Kim Nazaretov's band who became a butcher at the Central market, myths and legends of the Giant house on Profsoyuznaya street, a story about sacrifices of a young Rostov woman searching for happiness and other story lines.

The best film of the “Rostov inspires!” program will be chosen by the film audience and cinematographers. The results will be announced at the BRIDGE of ARTS closing ceremony.

“Rostov inspires!” would become a place for communication of local cinematographers and experts from all over the world. Cinema teams representatives are supposed to present their projects, answer the questions raised by the industry representatives, and hear the reviews.
