Screening committee of the II International Motivational Film Festival BRIDGE of ARTS has finished the formation of the short film program. The audience and the jury will be presented by 55 films to be delivered in the format of “Short Film Night”.
Short film program includes 30 Russian films and 25 foreign ones. 21 films are nominated for “Best short film” and “Best director”. Specially for these contests a stand-alone jury is formed headed by French producer and director Alain Depardieu.
17 foreign films will compete for BRIDGE of ARTS statuettes. They are Frank & Suzie (2016, China), The Last Hunt (2016, Australia), Flip Flops (2015, Great Britain), Democracy in the Driver's Seat (2016, USA),Arthur’s eyes (2016, Brazil), Hard Way Girl (2016, Canada), West Side Swordy (2015, USA), Rose Garden(2015, USA), Kathakar (2016, India), Maxence & Clara (2016, France), The Geneva Convention (2016, France), Centrepiece (2016, Australia), Hoop Dreamin' (2016, USA), The Salt Man (2015, Iran), Sole (2016, Italy), Friends (2016, Ukraine), Kvadraty (2016, Ukraine).
Russia is presented by four films of the competition program: The Sin by Tamilla Slichenko, The Forgotten by Alexander Korolev, Shagi by Maxim Kubrinsky and Mother by Kirill Pletnyov. It should be mentioned that Pletnyov's debut film won “Kinotavr: Short Film” contest last year.
“Each year BRIDGE of ARTS broadens its geography: very different films will be screened in both short film and feature film categories. It will be a real “crazy quilt” of world cultures, provided we have to match not only Europe and Asia, but both American continents and Australia. At the same time the motivating role of cinematography is preserved, and for us it is important that we find likeminded people all over the world”,said BRIDGE of ARTS general producer Fyodor Krat.
Duration of films is from 5 to 25 minutes. Screening in the format of “Short Film Night” will be on August 26 and 27. The award ceremony will be held at the closing ceremony of the festival on August 28.
