The first cinema began working in our city in 1904. Our region has served as a film location throughout the entire history Russian and Soviet cinematography. Such famous masters as M. Kalatozov, S. Gerasimov, S. Rostotsky, E. Keosayan, K. Serebrennikov, S. Bondarchuk, V. Todorovsky, A. Konchalovsky, N. Mikhalkov, S. Ursulyak and others worked there.
